Customizing your Career-Life Fit

Moving up in your job, being an active part of your family, contributing to your community, partaking in hobbies, taking a vacation. --the list goes on and on. How does one get it all done? And how does the corporate world fit your life? Can it be customized to meet your needs?

The end of the "normal" career path is upon us. Today's career is no longer a straight climb up the corporate ladder, but rather a journey of climbs and lateral moves —especially for most women. The corporate ladder is evolving, right before our eyes, into a corporate lattice™. Unlike the more limited options of the corporate ladder, the corporate lattice makes it possible for employees to customize careers—to the benefit of both the individual and the company.

This workshop introduces Mass Career Customization™, a new model for how careers are built. During the workshop, participants will have a hands-on experience with the Mass Career Customization framework and share insights with one another. We'll explore how participants' careers and life have fit together over time along four dimensions: pace, workload, location/schedule and role. The workshop will conclude with how participants can apply their learnings to their current/future work environments.

Workshop Leaders
Molly Anderson — Executive Director, Deloitte Services LLP
Nancie Fernandez — Principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP
