Barbara J. Desoer
Chief Technology,
Service & Fulfillment Executive
Bank of America

Barbara Desoer assumed the newly created position of Chief Technology, Service & Fulfillment Executive for Bank of America in August 2004. In this role, she leads strategy development and execution for the bank's technology platforms and fulfillment capabilities.

Barbara also has responsibility for ATMs, Customer Call Centers, Consumer Risk Operations and the bank's business in Latin America, all of which she managed in her previous role as President of Consumer Products. In addition, she leads Bank of America's payments strategy.

Barbara has worked for Bank of America in a number of capacities, including president of Northern California banking and Marketing executive. She was named one of US Banker's "25 Most Powerful Women in Banking" this year.

She joined Bank of America in 1977 and has accumulated a long list of accomplishments, while earning the respect of associates at all levels for her analytical and strategic thinking as well as her strong commitment to delighting customers.

During Barbara's leadership of Consumer Products, Bank of America gained the number one industry positions for retail banking, deposit market share, number of banking centers and ATMs, and the number of active online banking customers. She also helped spearhead the launch of LoanSolutions®, a Web-based mortgage loan process that revolutionized the retail real estate business.

Barbara is passionate about using the "voice of the customer" to inform all business decisions, and about working holistically across the organization. With her certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt, she believes strongly in managing by fact, and in applying disciplined, process excellence approaches to all aspects of the banking business, including sales .

She holds degrees in mathematics from Mount Holyoke College and in business administration from the University of California at Berkeley.

Barbara is currently a member of the Advisory Council of the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley and the Business Advisory Council of the Belk College of Business Administration at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte, NC. She is on the boards of directors of the North Carolina Dance Theatre, the Presbyterian Hospital and the United Way of Central Carolinas.

Barbara resides in Charlotte, NC with her husband and daughter.

Sheryl O'Loughlin
CEO, Clif Bar Inc.

Sheryl O'Loughlin was named CEO of Clif Bar Inc. in June 2004. She was selected by Gary Erickson, owner and founder of Clif Bar Inc., who remains active in the company's product, philanthropic and public arenas.

Sheryl joined Clif Bar Inc. in 1998 as the head of brand marketing, spearheading the company's 1999 launch of LUNA®, the first whole nutrition bar for women and one of the first foods of any kind to incorporate the specific nutritional needs of women. LUNA quickly became a best-selling bar and changed the face of the energy and nutrition bar category.

Under Sheryl's marketing leadership, Clif Bar Inc. made the Inc. 50 0 list of the nation's Fastest Growing Private Companies for three straight years (after having first earned the honor in 1997). In 2001, Brandweek magazine named her one of the Top Marketers of the Next Generation.

Prior to being named CEO, Sheryl served as executive vice president of brand at Clif Bar Inc., where she led marketing, sales and research and development. A tireless innovator, she oversaw the company's recent new product launches, including CLiF Ò ZBaR(TM), the organic-certified snack bar for kids; and CLIF® Builder's, the Entirely Natural Protein Bar(TM).

Before joining Clif Bar Inc., Sheryl held management positions in brand management, sales and promotions with the Quaker Oats Company and Kraft Foods.  

Sheryl holds an M.B.A. from Northwestern University and a B.B.A. from the University of Michigan. Passionate about the outdoors, she has run five marathons and remains an avid mountain biker and skier. Sheryl resides in Oakland, California, with her husband and two young sons.
